Beckie was one of three forwards represented to the "Best XI" first team which is the equivalent to a preseason All-America squad. Beckie previously earned TopDrawerSoccer.com "Best XI" first team following the 2014 season.
Beckie was joined on the first team by Makenzy Doniak of Virginia and Savannah Jordan from Florida. West Virginia defender Kadeisha Buchanan, a teammate of Beckie's on the Canadian Women's National Team, and Texas goalkeeper Abby Smith were the only other Big 12 players on the first team.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Beckie is also a preseason candidate for the MAC Hermann Trophy which is presented annually to the top player in the country. She was a national semifinalist for the award in 2014.
Beckie put together one of the best seasons in Texas Tech history a year ago when she led the Big 12 with 17 goals and 38 points. She ranked among the top 20 players in the country for both categories as well.
Beckie enters her senior season having already snapped the Texas Tech career record for goals (43), game-winning goals (16) and shot attempts (327). She currently ranks second all-time in program history with 99 career points.
Beckie and the Red Raiders get their first test of the 2015 season Saturday evening in an exhibition match at the University of Denver. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT in Denver.
