The Red Raiders, who are 3-0 overall for the fourth time in the past five seasons, are 12-7 all-time in Big 12 Conference openers heading into this weekend's contest with the 3rd-ranked Horned Frogs.
"Once you get to conference play, the ante goes up and you have to work that much harder and prepare that much better," Kingsbury said. "The only way to remain confident is to know you've done everything in your power during the week to prepare you for that game. So that's what we'll try to focus on this week."
In addition to Kingsbury, defensive coordinator David Gibbs and offensive coordinator Eric Morris spoke with the media as did junior defensive back Justis Nelson and senior offensive lineman Jared Kaster.
Texas Tech and TCU are slated for a 3:45 p.m. CT kickoff Saturday afternoon inside Jones AT&T Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally by FOX Sports.
