Texas Tech Announces 2016 Television Schedule

Texas Tech is slated for 20 television broadcasts during the 2016 season, including nine at home through its third-tier agreement with FOX Sports.

The series opener at TCU is one of 20 scheduled television appearances for the Red Raiders during the regular season, nine of which that will be carried on a FOX Sports platform through Texas Tech's third-tier agreement with the network.
Texas Tech will carry eight games on FOX Sports Southwest Plus, beginning with Opening Day (Feb. 19) when the Red Raiders host Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The series openers against Cal State Fullerton (March 4), Oklahoma (March 24) and Kansas State (April 1) as well as the entire Texas series (April 22-24) and the finale against Fullerton (March 6) will also air on FSSW-Plus.
Texas Tech's only other home television broadcast will be the May 19 series opener against West Virginia which will air on FOX Sports Southwest.
In addition to the Texas Tech TV on FOX Sports broadcasts, the Red Raiders will also appear on MLB Network during all three games of the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic (Feb. 26-28) hosted by the Houston Astros.
The entire Baylor and Kansas series will broadcast as well through each school's third-tier agreements with FOX Sports and ESPN3. The second game of Texas Tech's series at TCU on April 30 will also air on FOX Sports Southwest.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City will be shown in its entirety with every contest leading up to the championship game appearing on FOX College Sports. The finale, meanwhile, will air on FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN) beginning with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
Additional television appearances throughout the season are available through institutional third-tier agreements. Those broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
The 2016 baseball season begins in exactly two weeks when the Red Raiders host Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a four-game series at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The Feb. 19 series opener is slated for a 2 p.m. start with television coverage provided by FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
