SKILLMAN, N.J. -- The Texas Tech women's tennis team checked in at the No. 11 spot in this week's Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings announced Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The Lady Raiders (13-1) tucked away a pair of road wins over Houston and Rice to move their winning streak to nine matches. Texas Tech is ranked outside the ITA's Top 10 for the first time in over a month.
The Lady Raiders hold the top position among Big 12 teams and are joined by Oklahoma State (16) among the ITA's Top 25.
The singles and doubles rankings remain unchanged until March 22. Gabriela Talaba possesses the No. 100 singles rankings whereas Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein hold the No. 39 doubles ranking.
Texas Tech squares off with No. 52 TCU for its Big 12 opener Saturday at the McLeod Tennis Center. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. CT. Admission is free for fans with free pizza while supplies last.
