Texas Tech Soccer Tops Abilene Christian in First Spring Appearance

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech soccer defeated Abilene Christian 4-0 at the John Walker Soccer Complex Wednesday night to open 2016 spring season.

Freshman Gwennie Puente accounted for two of the Red Raiders' four goals in the match finding herself on the end of assists from Natalie Schmutz and Jade King.
King added a goal off a pass from Carly Wickenheiser while Hannah Fernandez found Mary Heiberger to round out the Red Raider 4-0 shutout victory of the Wildcats.
"We always enjoy playing ACU," added Stone. "Casey and his staff have done a remarkable job building a quality team in a short period of time at the division one level. They are very organized and are playing a nice brand of soccer."
The Red Raiders will continue spring play on April 9th as the Red Raiders will travel to Houston to take on the Rice Owls.
