The Red Raiders picked up six first-place finishes on the men's side last weekend at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco. The men's 4x100 relay team of Nigel Bethel, Andrew Hudson, Kareem McBride and Kyle Collins pieced together the sixth-fastest time in school history behind a mark of 39.50 seconds. The time moved them up to No. 8 in the region. Collins also ran the open 400 meters to a second-place finish at 45.33, giving him the eighth-fastest time in Texas Tech history and put him at No. 5 in the NCAA this season.
In the 800-meter run, C.J. Jones took down the stadium record after notching a personal-best 1:47.34 to grab the win. He now leads the Big 12 in the event and sits at 10th in the region in the event.
