2018 OUTDOOR
Ran in eight meets … medaled eight times throughout the spring … finished second in the 1500m at the ACU Wes Kittley Invite … won the 1600SMR at the Texas Relays … garnered top-three performances in both the 4x400 (second place) and 800m (third) at the Sun Angel Classic … won the 800m at the Texas Tech Corky/Crofoot Shootout … took third in the 800 at the Big 12 Championships while helping the 4x400 team take second … competed at the NCAA West Preliminary.
2018 INDOOR
Ran in five meets … picked up two wins … won the 600m at the Texas Tech Shootout with a career-best 1:16.94 … was victorious in the 800m at the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier … scored eight points in the 800 at the Big 12 Championships … qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with the 4x400 team.
2017 OUTDOOR
A total of nine outdoor meets in 2017, capping the season with All-Big 12 and All-America honors ... in his first 800m competition of the season at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Arizona, Jones claimed a new lifetime best, finishing the run with a 1:46.70 time for a bronze-medal finish ... the next weekend at the Horned Frog Invitational, Jones hit another personal best, this time in the 400m, clocking a 46.63 run ... at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship, Jones was honored All-Big 12 in the 800m ... at the NCAA Division I West Preliminaries, Jones ran nationals qualifying races in both the 800m (1:47.41) and 4x400-meter relay (3:03.88) to return to Historic Hayward Field ... in Eugene, Oregon, Jones was deemed an All-America Honorable Mention in the 800m (1:49.36), yet collected First Team honors in the 4x400-meter relay ... the mile-relay wrangled fifth-place overall with their 3:02.29 race, which was the fastest Tech race since the 2005 championships relay.
2017 INDOOR
Jones ran in four indoor meets for the Red Raiders, earning All-Big 12 and All-American accolades ... kicked off the season at the Tyson Invitational where he claimed second in the 800m with a 1:49.09 run ... his next appearance was at the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship where he earned two All-Big 12 honors, both in his contribution to the 4x400-meter relay (3:07.84) and his 800m run (1:48.70) ... this 800m run for the Big 12 bronze medal marked an indoor personal record ... Jones closed out his indoor season at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships in College Station, Texas, where he snagged sixth place on the 4x400-meter relay for First Team All-America.
2016 OUTDOOR
Finished 15th at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking in with a time of 3:06.62 to earn second team All-America honors ... ran the second leg of the 4x400 relay team which finished second in their heat to auto-qualify, sixth overall at 3:04.87 ... the time was a season-best ... it is the 10th mile relay to advance to the NCAA Championships in school history and marks back-to-back years he has competed on ... just missed out on a qualifying spot in the 800 meters after finishing 15th in the quarterfinals at 1:49.09 ... entered the NCAA West Preliminaries with a time of 1:47.34 in the men's 800 meters, which ranked 10th in the region ... the mark came at the Michael Johnson Invitational in only his second 800-meter race of the outdoors season ... it was also the second-straight meet he had achieved a new personal-best in the event, also doing so at the Wes Kittley Invitational at 1:49.89 ... got redemption at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, claiming the 800-meter title with a time of 1:47.93 ... it is the seventh outdoor crown in Texas Tech history ... he has not lost an 800-meter final this outdoor season ... has also competed on two 4x400-meter relays during the outdoor slate, including the bronze-medal winning team at the conference championships at 3:09.85.
2016 INDOOR
Earned Second Team All-America honors after helping the men's 4x400-meter relay team on the third leg finish ninth at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 3:07.17 ... the time ranked ninth all-time in the Texas Tech indoor record books ... earlier in the year, the same quartet put together a time of 3:04.98 at the Tyson Invitational for the second-fastest time in school history ... also at that meet, he posted his second of two PR's in the 800 meters ... the first came two weeks earlier at the Texas A&M Quadrangular at 1:50.02 to finish second ... at Tyson, he rounded the track to a time of 1:48.79 to earn the win in the invitational section ... the time was also the seventh-fastest in Texas Tech history ... was just edged out of the top spot at the Big 12 Indoor Championships to earn silver with a time of 1:49.29.
2015 OUTDOOR
Suited up in eight meets for the Red Raiders in the 400, 800, 1500 and 4x400-meter relay events during the outdoor slate ... opened the season with a third-place time in the 800-meter dash at the UTSA Challenge at 1:53.43 ... his top time of the season in the event came at the Michael Johnson Classic on April 18 at 1:50.87 ... was a member of the fastest 4x400 relay time of the season by Texas Tech, coming at the Texas Relays to a time of 3:03.47 ... that time also ranked seventh in program history in outdoor competition and was ranked No. 2 in the nation at the time ... earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
2015 INDOOR
Competed in the 600 yards, 800 meters and 4x400 relay during his first indoor season donning the Scarlet & Black ... opened the season with a second-place finish in the 600-yard dash at 1:10.43 at the Texas Tech Open ... his top time of the season in the 800 meters came at the Tyson Invitational at 1:51.20 ... just missed out on All-Big 12 performer honors after finishing ninth in the 800 meters at the conference meet (1:51.88) ... helped the 4x400 relay squad to the seventh-best time in school history at the Arkansas Open at 3:07.00 ... earned First Team All-America honors after a seventh-place finish at 3:07.52 at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
