Awe, Robertson Agree To NFL Free Agent Deals

LUBBOCK, Texas --Former Texas Tech football players Micah Awe and Pete Robertson have agreed to free agent terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks, respectively.
Including the three Red Raiders who were selected in the NFL Draft, five 2015 Texas Tech seniors have now found their way onto NFL rosters this spring. In addition, former Red Raider punter Taylor Symmank attended mini-camp with the Minnesota Vikings last week.
Awe was one of five team captains elected for the 2015 season, starting in each of Tech's 13 games. He led the team with 126 tackles and also had a team-leading 77 solo tackles. He ranked 13th nationally in solo tackles per game (5.9) and 18th in total tackles per game (9.7), ranking second in the Big 12 for both categories as well.
Awe was named honorable mention All-Big 12 by the conference coaches and garnered All-Big 12 second team honors from the Associated Press.
Robertson appeared in 12 games while making 11 starts in 2015, leading the Red Raiders with 13.5 tackles for a loss, which totaled 40 yards. He also led the Red Raider defense with five sacks and three quarterback hurries, and concluded his career ranked fifth among Red Raider career sack leaders with 21.0. In 2014, Robertson led the Big 12 and ranked sixth nationally with 12.0 sacks.
Robertson was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by the conference coaches, as well as an All-Big 12 first team honoree by the Waco Tribune. He was also named to Watch Lists for the Lombardi, Butkus, Bronco Nagurski and Chuck Bednarik awards.
