EUGENE, Ore. -- Texas Tech's Hannes Ronneblad has been named to the Division I PING All-Central Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Ronneblad's honor marks the second-straight season a Red Raider has been named to an All-Region team after Clement Sordet and Mito Pereira were tabbed a season ago.
Ronneblad led the Red Raiders this season with a 73.5 stroke average. He opened the 2015-16 campaign by tying for first (-2) at the Carmel Cup, which was played at Pebble Beach. Ronneblad went on to finish under-par at three more tournaments.
Ronneblad was Texas Tech's best performer at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional, tying for 11th at 8-over. In what was Tech's 15th-straight postseason appearance, Ronneblad's final-round 76 included an eagle on the first hole, which helped thrust the Red Raiders into contention late.
The GCAA selected a total of 156 players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - for all-region honors.
