Hannah Carson now owns the No. 1, No. 6 & No. 10 discus performances in the Texas Tech record books.

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech track & field wrapped up the Masked Rider Open on Saturday with a first-place finish in the women's discus invitational.

The throw ranks as the sixth-best in Texas Tech history. It comes a day after Carson broke the school record in the event behind a throw of 61.97m/203-4. Her mark on Friday also put her at No. 2 in the NCAA this season and gave her the 2016 Olympic Games standard (61.00m).
Carson now owns the No. 1, No. 6 & No. 10 discus performances in the Texas Tech record books, all three coming within the last month of action.
Up next for the Red Raiders is a trip to Fort Worth for the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 13-15 at Lowdon Track & Field Complex.
