July 06, 2016 | Men's Golf
CHANTILLY, France — Five Red Raider golfers are participating in the European Amateur Team Championship this week in Chantilly, France, where the second round was completed this morning.
Â
Newcomers Sandy Scott and Fredrik Nilehn join returners Hurly Long, Hannes Ronneblad and Federico Zucchetti at Golf De Chantilly, where only 10 players are currently under par. One of those is Long, who carded an even-par 71 Wednesday to follow up his 2-under 69 on Tuesday. He is currently tied for sixth.
Â
Scott opened with a 1-under 70 yesterday, but turned in a 3-over 74 today. At +2 for the tournament, he sits in a tie for 24th with Ronneblad, who has gone 69-75 so far this week.
Â
On their heels is Zucchetti, who after a 75 and a 70 so far this week sits in a tie for 33rd at 3-over.
Â
The best round of the day by a Red Raider belonged to Nilehn, who registered a 2-under 69. However, his 84 on Tuesday has him at +11 for the tournament, in a tie for 78th.
Â
On the team side, Scott's play has his native Scotland in a tie for first with host nation France (+3).
Â
The tournament will continue tomorrow, Friday and Saturday, with tomorrow's tee times yet to be announced.
