Fall Camp Recap: Day 3

The Red Raiders donned the shoulder pads for the first time Thursday evening
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech's third day of fall camp saw a slight change as the Red Raiders donned shoulder pads for the first time Thursday evening at the Football Training Facility.

The Red Raiders, who previously in helmets, jersey and pants during the first two days of camp, waited through a weather delay for the second time already this week before making their way out for a 6 p.m. start.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury and his staff once again put the Red Raiders through various position drills as well as several 11-on-11 team periods. Tech will go through similar workouts Thursday and Friday before holding its first scrimmage Saturday morning.

The Red Raiders will host 20 more practices leading into their Sept. 3 season opener against Stephen F. Austin. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. with television coverage provided by FOX Sports Net.

Season tickets, single game tickets and mini plans are all still on sale for the 2016 season. Tickets can be purchased online, in person at the Texas Tech Ticket Office located on the east side of Jones AT&T Stadium or by calling 806-742-TECH.
