Lady Raiders Foreign Tour: Aug. 15-16

LISBON, Portugal --Â The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team flew across the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday to begin its 10-day Foreign Tour of Portugal and Spain.
Yesterday afternoon, Tech flew from Lubbock to Houston and then Houston to Washington D.C., where the team took off for Lisbon, Portugal. Tech took off from D.C. at approximately 9:15 p.m. local time and arrived in Lisbon around 10 a.m. local time.Â
Day one abroad featured some free time to explore as the Lady Raiders took a bus tour, ate some local fare and visited various landmarks.
Tech's first game will be agianst CRC Quinta Dos Lombos at the Pavilhao Desportivo Dos Lombos on Aug. 18th at 8 p.m.

After a full day of travel, we finally arrived in Lisbon, at 10am (4am Lubbock time). After arriving we explored the streets of Lisbon and saw the Belem Tower and 25 de Abdul Bridge which looks exactly like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. We also got to shop inside a mall, it was interesting to see how some stores looked exactly like the ones in the United States, but they just had different names. We then went to lunch at Bufalo Grill, which is like a Brazilian steakhouse. After the unlimited food we were stuffed, so we had to walk it off and tour more sites of the city of Lisbon. It was so cool to see how lively the streets were; filled with music and artists and it seemed to never be a dull moment. We also visited Jeronimos Monastery, which has been around longer than when the United States was established. After rooming the streets, we visited Cabo de Roca, the western most part of Europe. We finished our night with dinner at Gordini's, an Italian Restaurant. The food was fresh and it tasted as such. We have an eventful day tomorrow and we are all so excited for it!
