Lady Raiders To Hold Open Practice Saturday
August 02, 2016 | Women's Basketball
LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball head coach Candi Whitaker announced Tuesday that the Lady Raiders will hold a practice on Saturday afternoon, which will be open to the public. Admission is complimentary.
The practice, which will be held in the United Supermarkets Arena practice gym, will begin at 2:30 p.m., and will last until approximately 4:30 p.m. After the practice, fans are encouraged to take part in a "Meet-and-Greet" with the Lady Raiders, which will include autograph signings and on-court games.
Tomorrow, Tech begins its string of 10 NCAA-allotted practices in advance of its Foreign Tour of Portugal and Spain, which will take place Aug. 15-25 and include games against three select/all-star teams.
The NCAA allows teams to participate in foreign tours once every four years. This will be the Lady Raiders fourth such tour, having traveled to Canada (British Columbia, Vancouver, Whistler & Victoria) in 2010, Australia (Sydney, Brisbane & Cairns) in 2005 and France (Paris & Nice) along with Switzerland in 2001.
Fans will be able to follow the Lady Raiders throughout the tour and the practices leading up to it with a live blog on texastech.com.
Season tickets for the 2016-17 women's basketball campaign are on sale now, and ticket office representatives will be present at Saturday's practice.
Fans can purchase season tickets online at www.TexasTech.com, in person at the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office located on the East Side of Jones AT&T Stadium or via the phone at (806) 742-8324.
