Women's Tennis Begins Spring Campaign in Miami

Lady Raiders to face three Top 20 teams at the Miami Spring Inivtational
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team kicks off the 2017 spring season at the Miami Spring Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla., this weekend.

 The No. 13 Lady Raiders will face host No. 12 Miami in addition to No. 9 Vanderbilt and the No. 20 University of Kentucky during the three-day tournament.

Texas Tech is coming off another historic season in 2016 in which the Lady Raiders set a new single season school record with 25 wins, advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second straight year and finished with a program's highest final ITA ranking (No. 15). The Lady Raiders have collected five consecutive NCAA Tournament trips under Head Coach Todd Petty.
The Lady Raiders finished runners-up at the Big 12 Championships to Oklahoma State and finished second in the regular season.

Texas Tech opens the 2016 season at home next weekend during the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Lady Raiders will face UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 3 p.m. and will take on No. 22 Arizona State or No. 16 South Carolina on Sunday at 3 p.m.
