No. 13 Red Raiders In Third Through 18 At Isleworth

Red Raiders finish up strong first round in Florida
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's golf team, recently up to No. 13 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, sits in third place following the first round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational.
The Red Raiders (-2) are one of four teams under par following the first of three treks down the par-72, 7,544-yard course at the Isleworth Country Club.
Leading the way for Tech on day one was Ivan Ramirez, who turned in a 4-under 68, complete with six birdies. Four of those birdies came on holes 10, 11, 13 and 15 for a 33 on the back nine. Ramirez enters round two in third place, individually.
Joining Ramirez in the red was Hurly Long, who carded a 2-under 70 and is tied for seventh, and Fredrik Nilehn, who recorded a 1-under 71. Nilehn is currently in 11th place.
Sandy Scott (+5) is tied for 68th, and Kyle Hogan (+6) is tied for 79th.
The Red Raiders are one of 10 teams in the 17-team field currently ranked in the Golfstat top 30. Tech currently sits in front of seven of those teams on the leaderboard.
Tech will begin round two on Monday morning at 8:40 a.m. CT, off the first tee. Hogan will lead off, followed by Scott, Long, Nilehn and Ramirez.
