T&F Wraps Day Two of NM Classic

Red Raiders conclude the weekend in Albuquerque with 28 personal-best performances.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Texas Tech track & field completed day two of the New Mexico Classic & Multis with seven top-five finishes on Saturday, Feb. 4 in Albuquerque.
Andrew Hudson's preliminary (6.71), semifinal (6.70) and final (6.71) 60-meter dash times all qualified as top marks in the Texas Tech indoor record book.
"I was very pleased with the way the men's sprinters and hurdlers competed this weekend," Assistant Coach Calvin Robinson said. "This was our first two-day meet as a team and we wanted to see how the guys would respond coming back on day two. For the most part I think we did a good job and now it's back to work and preparing for the championship season."
I'Shunique Hamilton and Tiffani Johnson produced personal records in the 60-meter dash finals. Hamilton led with her best time of 7.44, Johnson just behind at 7.48. Hamilton's mark ranks seventh in the Big 12 and Johnson's 11th.
Darien Tennon finished first amongst collegiate entries in the 60-meter hurdles with a fourth-place conference ranking time of 7.96.
Ivy Walker notched a new personal best in the women's 60H finishing in 8.47 giving her a fourth-place meet finish.
Women's 400-meter runners Jadsia Warden and Taylor Rockwell secured new personal-best times. Rockwell finished in 55.29, her first PR in the event since last year's Tyson Invitational. Warden ended with a 56.36 stride.
Charles Brown's second-place triple jump mark of 15.80m/51-10 makes him fourth in the conference and 14th in the NCAA.
Viershanie Latham also placed second in the triple jump reaching a best mark of 12.92m/42-4.75.
Dallas, Texas, Ames, Iowa and Fayetteville, Arkansas will all be locations to watch the track & field team next weekend, as they will split to compete. The first meet is set to begin Thursday, February 9th.
