Football Spring Practice Report #4
March 10, 2017 | Football
LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech football team held its second full-pads practice of the spring on Thursday.
After stretching, the Red Raiders began practice with special teams periods while the offensive line and defensive line held individual position drills. After the special teams period, the rest of the Red Raiders joined the linemen in holding an individual position period. The defense took part in tackling drills while the offensive skill players ran routes and caught passes.
From there, the Red Raiders held an 11-on-11 team period, then the wide receivers and defensive backs did one-on-one drills while the offensive line and defensive line did the same.
After another quick 11-on-11 team period, the first team offense was faced with a 4th and 5 scenario against the first team defense. The defense stopped the offense just short of the marker and then the second team defense did the same against the second team offense, winning the day. Because of the result, offensive players carried the defensive players' pads back to the locker room.
Tech will return to practice after spring break. Remember to to follow the Red Raiders on Twitter (TexasTechFB), Instagram (TexasTech_FB), Snapchat (TexasTech_FB) and Facebook (www.Facebook.com/TTUAthletics).
