T&F Men Move Up in USTFCCCA Ranking

After a strong weekend at Texas Relays, the men’s track & field team moves to No. 11.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's track & field team is ranked No. 11 in the week one U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings.
The Red Raiders are coming off of a successful performance in Austin, Texas, at the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Charles Brown hit a long jump mark of 8.14m/26-8.50 ranking him No. 3 in the world and No. 1 in the nation.
Also sitting high in the world rankings is Trey Culver, currently ranked fifth overall in the high jump. Culver also holds a No. 1 national ranking for his 2.24m/7-4.25 winning jump at Texas Relays.
Kyle Collins, Steven Champlin, Charles Jones and Vincent Crisp closed out the weekend in Austin with their No. 6 globally ranked 4x400 relay performance, clocking a 3:03.28 run.
Werner Bouwer made his second javelin appearance for the Red Raiders throwing a fifth place 70.41m/231-0 mark. Bouwer still leads the conference with his original opening mark of 72.16m/236-9 posted at the UTSA Invitational.
A 400-meter hurdle time of 51.26 was run by Darien Tennon allowing him second in conference rankings.
The Red Raiders will continue their outdoor season this weekend in Tempe, Arizona, at the Sun Angel Classic on April 7-8.
