LUBBOCK, Texas – Current Red Raider Justin Hall and incoming freshman Sean Hooper are set to begin competition in Trujillo, Peru, for Team USA at the U20 Pan American Junior Championships on July 21-23 held at the Chan Chan Athletics Stadium.
Hall's long jump competition will take place on July 21 at 5 p.m. CDT, while Hooper's 4x400 relay will race on July 23 at 10:50 a.m. CDT and 1:50 p.m. CDT (advancement permitting).
Hall will be representing the Texas Tech jump squad, entering in the long jump from his second-place finish at the USATF Junior National Championships in Sacramento, California, just last month. A leap of 7.56m/24-9.75 granted Hall his qualifying mark to be able to represent the U.S. in Peru.
During regular season competition, Hall finished with a best-mark of 8.01m/26-3.50 (+3.9w) in the long jump, which gave him a No. 6 finish nationally. Hall also traveled to Eugene, Oregon, where he took a 12th place finish for Second Team All-America honors.
Joining Hall in Trujillo is Hooper, a newcomer from Keller Fossil Ridge High School. Hooper is set to run on the men's 4x400 relay from his third-place qualifying 400m time from Sacramento of 45.86.  Congrats to the 1? incoming and 2? current Red Raiders representing Team ???? in July! #WreckEm
