#TTUCamp17 Highlights: Day 5
August 04, 2017 | Football
The Red Raiders continued the first week of training camp on Friday, on the practice fields behind the football training facility.
Today's practice marked the first day the Red Raiders could practice in full pads, with full contact.
Outside of the normal individual position drills, special teams periods and one-on-one situational scenarios, the first team offense faced the first team defense twice in a 1:30 drill, as did the second-team offense and defense. The offense got the ball on its own 25 with 1:30 to score. The first two drives featured a Justin Stockton TD run and a long TD reception from De'Quan Bowman before the defense responded with a Douglas Coleman III fumble return TD along with a fourth-down stop.
The Red Raiders will hold an open scrimmage Saturday inside Jones AT&T Stadium in preparation for the season opener against Eastern Washington on Sept. 2, which is now only 29 days away.
Season tickets are still on sale for as low as $184 a seat and can be purchased online or by contacting the Tech Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH. The list of ticket options for 2017 includes the "Red Raider Pass," a mobile-only selection designed for recent Texas Tech graduates looking for an affordable and convenient ticket plan. The "Red Raider Pass" is on sale for $150 a seat and can be purchased by visiting www.TexasTech.com/RedRaiderPass.
