Red Raiders Start Hot, But Even Out On Day Two

DALLAS, Texas – The No. 11 Texas Tech men's golf team is tied for sixth place after its second-straight round of even par at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
Tech got off to a good start from the No. 10 tee as Hurly Long birdied his first three holes and moved into a tie for the individual lead. As a team, the Red Raiders went 6-under on the first two holes of the day. However, they went 6-over on the very next two holes.
The seesaw action would continue for most of the day, as Tech mustered two eagles on the back nine, but carded a double and triple bogey as well.
After the dust settled, the Red Raiders had gone even par for the second-straight day. Tech is eight shots off the lead heading into the final round.
Fredrik Nilehn was the low man on the day for the Red Raiders, stringing together three birdies and an eagle en route to a 2-under 69. He is currently tied for `11th for the tournament, at 1-under. Ivan Ramirez (-1) is also tied for 11th, following up Sunday's 71 with a 1-under 70.
Long shot a 77 on day two, and his now tied with Sandy Scott (+3) among others for 37th. Adam Blomme (+11) is tied for 69th.
Playing as an individual, Kyle Hogan shot a 74 on Monday and is now +2 for the tournament, tied for 26th.
The Red Raiders will begin the final round at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, off the first tee, led by Blomme, who will be followed by Scott, Long, Ramirez and Nilehn. Hogan will tee off at 9:10 a.m., also off the first tee.
