Lady Raiders set to begin play in California on Tuesday
LUBBOCK, Texas – Two members of the Lady Raider Tennis team returns to action this week at the Riviera/ITA Women's Tennis All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Senior Felicity Maltby was selected to the tournament's singles qualifying draw. She was tabbed as the No. 13 seed among the 64-player pool. Maltby has made the qualifying singles draw the last two seasons.
Maltby opens the round of 64 against Oklahoma State's Marina Guinart. First serve is set for 2:15 p.m. CT. In the preseason rankings, Guinart received the No. 73 ranking while Maltby ranks No. 37. This will be the first time the two will face off during their collegiate careers.
Maltby will team up with freshman Nell Miller in the doubles qualifying draw. The duo is set to face Jessica Failla and Anastasia Iamachkine of Pepperdine. First serve is set for 11 a.m. CT. Both pairs are unranked entering the tournament.
