Future Lady Raider Wins Region Player of the Year

6-1 forward Taylor Hosendove named Region player of the year in Atlanta
LUBBOCK, Texas – Future Lady Raider Taylor Hosendove earned several postseason awards including the 2017-18 Region 2-7A Player of the Year.

In her senior season, Hosendove has helped Atlanta Westlake High School to a 25-1 overall record and perfect 10-0 in Region 2 league play. She led the Lions to their third regional championship when they play in the sweet 16 on Friday.

Hosendove was also one of 15 selected to the Atlanta Tipoff Club's the late season All-Metro team and is considered a 2018 McDonald's All-American nominee.

After her junior season, the 6-1 forward was positioned on the Georgia Coaches Association 2017 All-State team and was named 2017 Region Player of the Year. Hosendove is tabbed a three-star recruit by ESPN Hoopgurlz and a four-star recruit by Jump Off Plus. She also helped the Lions to three straight state tournament appearances.

After breaking onto the scene at Westlake her freshman year, she led the team in rebounding during her sophomore season on her way to All-Region Second Team honors.

Hosendove also considered Kansas, Florida and Alabama among others before deciding on the Lady Raiders.
