February 19, 2018 | Women's Soccer
The Red Raiders will host three games at the John Walker Soccer Complex this spring.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech soccer head coach Tom Stone announced the dates for the 2018 spring schedule, which is highlighted by three matches at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
The Red Raiders will open the spring slate with a home match against New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Tech last played UNM during the 2016 fall season, picking up a 2-1 victory over the Lobos on Aug. 19 in Lubbock.
Tech follows the week after with a home doubleheader on March 3, taking on West Texas A&M at 10:30 a.m., and Abilene Christian at 3:30 p.m. Last year, the Red Raiders faced WTAMU during its spring schedule, while playing ACU in the fall of 2016.
The next three matches will be played on the road, as Tech squares off with Big 12 foe Oklahoma State on March 31 in Denton at Mean Green Soccer Stadium. The Red Raiders will wrap the spring schedule with a match at Rice on April 7 and LSU in Bossier City on April 14. Times for the road contests have not yet been determined.
The Red Raiders put together a 9-7-3 record during the 2017 fall season, missing postseason play for the first time in six years. Tech will return the bulk of its core, graduating four seniors, while adding three mid-year enrollees and eight on National Signing Day to get ready for an exciting 2018 campaign.
