LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield, are bringing the Red Raiders to a new broadcast partner in the greater Houston area as a five-year relationship with KKHT-FM 100.7 begins this fall.
          Â
KKHT-FM will carry all Texas Tech football and men's basketball games live through the 2022-23 collegiate athletic season. The affiliate also will air the seasonal coaches' show and daily update, providing a quick recap of all Red Raider sports. KKHT is a 100,000-watt FM station owned by Salem Media Group.
Â
"We are very excited that KKHT-FM has been named the 'Home and Away Voice' of the Texas Tech Red Raiders here in Houston," said Salem Media Group General Manager Chuck Jewell.
Â
"Bringing KKHT into our radio network will be an outstanding addition to fans living in the Houston area, and we appreciate Salem Media Group's support and commitment to carry Red Raider programming in a market where we know we have a vibrant and passionate fan base," said Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt.
Â
Texas Tech is one of nearly 130 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas represented by Learfield. Its local entity, Red Raider Sports Properties, manages the relationship locally. The company's rich history includes over four decades of developing trusted, long-term relationships with some of the most revered institutions and associations in the world of college sports.
