Texas Tech opened preseason practice Friday afternoon with a two-plus hour workout
LUBBOCK, Texas – The 2018 football season officially kicked off Friday afternoon as Texas Tech hosted its first of 25 preseason workouts on the practice fields at the Football Training Facility.
Â
"I think the first day you are just always excited to be out there," head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. "Guys are excited to be back playing football and they moved around well. We have a bunch of guys that have some experience and know how we practice, so I thought it well fairly smooth for day one."
Â
The Red Raiders started the first part of practice inside the Petersen Family Indoor Practice Facility before making their way outside. It was the first practice on the new grass and FieldTurf surfaces at the Football Training Facility after the entire complex was renovated this spring.
