Texas Tech ready for second tournament of the fall
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's golf team will tee off in its second tournament of the season on Monday, at The Showdown In The Rockies, held at Huntsman Springs, in Driggs, Idaho.
The No. 15 Red Raiders will play 36 holes Monday and the final 18 Tuesday on the 7,613-yard, par-72 track.
Tech is coming off a trip to Pebble Beach, where Ivan Ramirez earned a top-10 individual finish at the Carmel Cup, going 71-66-71 (-8) to take ninth place.
This will be Tech's final tuneup before the return of the Big 12 Match Play Championship in October.
The Red Raiders will be joined in the field by Arizona, Colorado, St. Mary's, Utah, Oregon State, Boise State, Utah State, Utah Valley and Santa Clara.
Tech tees off at 9:25 a.m. CT, led by Freshman Markus Braadlie. He will be followed by Kyle Hogan, Sandy Scott, Adam Blomme and Ramirez.
