Lady Raiders fall to Cyclones in Ames
AMES, Iowa – The Texas Tech Women's Basketball team suffered its eighth Big 12 loss as the Lady Raiders fell to No. 23/25 Iowa State on Tuesday.
Tech drops to 10-10 on the season and 1-8 in Big 12 play.
Down 10-0 in the first three minutes of the game, Texas Tech made four straight three-pointers sparked by sophomore Sydney Goodson to cut the Cyclones lead down to one.
Iowa State ran the score up in the second quarter, taking a 20-point lead into intermission. The Lady Raiders couldn't quite get the shots to fall as Iowa State took the 105-66 win.
TOP PERFORMERS
Texas Tech: Three Lady Raiders scored in double figures led by sophomore Sydney Goodson, with a career high 19 points. She also had a career high four steals in the contest. Freshman Chrislyn Carr followed with 14 points and four assists. Sophomore Angel Hayden tied a career high 10 points, while senior Zuri Sanders posted 10 rebounds for her 12th game in double figures.
Iowa State: The Cyclones had four of their five starters in double figures, led by Bridget Carleton who put up 27 points. Kristin Scott followed with 22 points while Madison Wise scored 13. Alexa Middleton followed with 10 points of her own.
