Lady Raiders Open Play at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Three Lady Raiders opened play at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday at the LaFortune Tennis Center. Olivia Peet, Kennedy Bridgforth and Margarita Skriabrina were competing in the tournament pre-qualifying rounds.

Skriabrina opened the day with a win over Mississippi State's Tamara Racine, defeating the Bulldog in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. The freshman Lady Raider would fall in the second round, dropping her match against Alexandra Belaya of Illinois in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 6-1.

Bridgforth fell to the draw's fifth seed, Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell of Iowa, 6-4, 6-3. She will take on Michigan State's Samantha Memije in consolation action on Sunday.

Peet also dropped her first-round match to Chunxi Xin of Central Arkansas, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5, and will face Washington's Natsuho Arakawa in the first round of consolation.
