Lady Raiders Travel to Blue Gray Classic This Weekend

Texas Tech selected as No. 4 seed, set to face Fresno State
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 35 Texas Tech Women's Tennis heads to Montgomery, Ala., to participate in the 71st annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic this weekend.

Texas Tech (6-3) is joined by No. 43 Alabama, No. 37 Auburn, Fresno State, No. 22 Illinois, No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 33 Wake Forest and Yale in the three-day double-elimination tournament.

The Lady Raiders were selected as the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will face Fresno State on Friday at 12:30 p.m. They will face No. 1 seed Oklahoma State or auburn in the next round. Texas Tech owns a 1-0 record in the all-time series over Fresno State. Tech defeated the Bulldogs, 4-3, in 2016.

This matchup will also include a face-off between Head Coach Todd Petty and former Associate Head Coach Ric Mortera.

The last time the Lady Raiders were a part of the tournament was in 2017 when Texas Tech lost to No. 8 Auburn in the finals.
