Red Raiders Own Lead Going Into Final Round

PALM DESERT, California – Texas Tech will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate after posting a 282 team total on Saturday at the Classic Club.
The Red Raiders lead the 21-team tournament with a 4-under-par 290-282 – 572, while Boise State is in second at 293-281 – 574 and TCU is third with a 575 two-round total. The final round of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (CST) on Sunday.Â
Texas Tech senior Adam Blomme is second individually at 5-under-par through two rounds, while Sandy Scott is seventh at 1-under and Ivan Ramirez is at even-par and in a tie for eighth for the Red Raiders. Kyle Hogan is 2-over going into Sunday and Jansen Smith who is playing as an individual is also at even-par. Blomme (69-70 – 139) recorded his second-round 70 with three birdies, while Scott improved by five shots from his first day total for a 69 with five birdies. Ramirez would shoot his 71 with five birdies and Hogan had two during his round. Braadlie also had an even-par round that included four birdies and 11 pars.
Skyler Eubank leads the tournament at 8-under after posting 68s in the first two rounds for Boise State, while TCU's David Ravetto and Colorado's Danile O'Loughlin are tied with Blomme at 5-under.
The Red Raiders are coming off their spring opener two weeks ago at the Amer Ari Invitational where they finished sixth. Ramirez led Tech at the tournament, posting 68-73-68 – 209 for 12th place overall. Tech was in second place after the opening round in Hawaii for their best start this year prior to Friday's round. After the completion of this weekend's tournament, Texas Tech will continue its season next week at the Southern Highlands Masters in Las Vegas from March 3-5 before also playing at the Lake Charles Invitational (Louisiana), Aggie Invitational (College Station) and El Macero Classic (California) leading into the Big 12 Championships on April 26-28 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
