Spring Series: What to Know for Saturday

Texas Tech will open the Spring Series at 1:30 p.m. Saturday inside Jones AT&T Stadium
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will open the Spring Series Presented by Double Eagle on Saturday afternoon when the Red Raiders host a 1:30 p.m. scrimmage inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Admission will be free for all fans through the Gate 1 (southwest corner) and Gate 2 (north) entrances.

The scrimmage is one of three opportunities to catch the Red Raiders this spring as Tech will host its Midland scrimmage on April 5 and then the annual Spring Game on April 13 at The Star in Frisco.

Below are several important pieces of information prior to arriving to Saturday's scrimmage.

TIME CHANGE
Texas Tech announced via social media Friday morning that Saturday's scrimmage has moved to a 1:30 p.m. start. Red Raider fans can now enjoy the roughly two-hour scrimmage inside Jones AT&T Stadium before tip off between Texas Tech and Gonzaga in the Elite Eight round from Anaheim (5:09 p.m. CT start).
TELEVISION COVERAGE
Saturday's scrimmage will not have any television coverage or streaming capabilities. Highlights will be available afterwards via @TexasTechFB on Twitter or Texas Tech Football on Facebook.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking will be available in the commuter lots east and west of Jones AT&T Stadium on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans are encouraged to arrive to the scrimmage early for parking closest to the stadium.

POSTGAME AUTOGRAPH SESSION TO FOLLOW SCRIMMAGE
The Red Raiders and head coach Matt Wells will be available for a postgame autograph session immediately following the scrimmage. Fans will be allowed down on the Jones AT&T Stadium turf where Wells and the Red Raiders will be lined up for autographs over a 60-minute session. Texas Tech will have posters available for autographs. Fans will be allowed on the field once the Red Raiders have cleared the field to briefly change out of their shoulder pads and helmets.

SCRIMMAGE FORMAT
Matt Wells is expected to run the Red Raiders through roughly 100 plays Saturday in their first scrimmage of the spring. Different sections of the scrimmage will place the Red Raiders in various situations such as red zone offense and defense as well as a two-minute drill. There will not be a scoring format for this scrimmage.

RED RAIDER LETTERWINNERS TO BE RECOGNIZED FOLLOWING SCRIMMAGE
The Texas Tech football program will honor its past late in Saturday's scrimmage as all former letterwinners will be invited down to the field for a postgame presentation. Texas Tech will have many of its letterwinners back in Lubbock this weekend to play in the Jess Styles Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by the Double T Varsity Club at The Rawls Course.
LUKE SIEGEL TO BE THE 'RED & BLACK GIVE BACK FEARLESS SPECTATOR' ON SATURDAY
In addition to its former letterwinners, Texas Tech will have another special guest on its sideline in Luke Siegel, who will be the official "Red & Black Give Back Fearless Spectator" for Saturday's scrimmage. Siegel and his father, former Texas Tech men's tennis coach Tim Siegel, attended a Tech practice this week, providing the Red Raiders an inspirational message to close Tuesday's workout. Luke Siegel has inspired many in the Lubbock community and nationally as he has tirelessly worked to recover from his July 2015 accident. TEXAS TECH TICKET OFFICE ON HAND TO ASSIST WITH SEASON TICKETS
Members of the Texas Tech Ticket Office will be on hand Saturday afternoon to assist fans with purchasing season tickets for the 2019 campaign. Ticket representatives will be located in the ticket windows near Gate 1 of Jones AT&T Stadium.

CONCESSIONS AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT SATURDAY'S SCRIMMAGE
Fans entering Jones AT&T Stadium can take advantage of Texas Tech's new fan-friendly concession prices Saturday as stands will be available throughout the west concourse. Beer and wine will also be on sale during the scrimmage.

CLEAR BAG POLICY IN PLACE FOR SPRING GAME
Texas Tech fans are reminded that the university's Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for Saturday's scrimmage.
