Red Raiders Remain in 4th Through Two Rounds In Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Texas Tech senior Adam Blomme shot 2-under par on Monday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate and is in 10th place after two rounds to lead the Red Raiders who will enter the final round in fourth. The Red Raiders are 4-under through 36 holes at the Southern Highlands Golf Club behind No. 4 Georgia Tech which leads the tournament at 11-under, No. 37 Stanford (10-under) and Oklahoma (8-under).
Blomme has a two-day scorecard of 71-70 – 141 to lead the Red Raiders, while Ivan Ramirez is in 18th at the event with a 72-71 – 143 going into Tuesday. Sandy Scott and Kyle Hogan are both tied for 20th overall at even-par and freshman Jansen Smith is 5-over after carding 74-75 – 149. Ramirez shot 1-under on Monday with four birdies on his scorecard. Blomme, who finished second at the last week's event in California, also had four birdies during a round of 2-under on back-to-back days.
Jack Trent leads the tournament at 9-under for UNLV, while Brandon Wu (Stanford) and Parker Cody (Texas) are at 6-umder.
Texas Tech and the 15-team field will conclude the tournament with Red Raiders start the day at 10:55 at the Southern Highlands Golf Club. Livestream coverage will begin at 2 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday during the final rounds. Click here to access the live stream.

Using Golfstat's NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a penalty for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component. The remaining six men's and women's spots for the United States will consist of five committee selections, including at least one non-Division I golfer, and a coaches pick. The balance of the International team will include the men's and women's winners of The R&A Scholars Tournament, four committee selections, and a coaches pick. Arnold Palmer Cup teams will be unveiled live on Golf Channel's Golf Central on Wednesday, March 6 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard.
