Red Raiders head to Fort Worth for third spring game.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Following strong exhibition wins over West Texas A&M and Abilene Christian last weekend, Texas Tech will depart for Fort Worth for a spring contest with TCU on Saturday.
The Red Raiders are just one week removed from opening their spring at home against West Texas A&M and ACU. Tech put up four goals against the Lady Buffs, then turned around to shut out the Wildcats, 2-0. Savanna jones racked up six points on the day, tallying two goals and two assists. Kirsten Davis assisted on three goals on the day.
"Playing a Big 12 opponent in the spring provides an opportunity where you know the competitive level will be similar to that of our fall season," said assistant coach Gibbs Keeton.
Keeton, along with the rest of the staff, is happy to be returning to the Dallas-Fort Worth area again.
"Playing in the Metroplex allows our alumni, players' families and prospective student-athletes the chance to come catch a glimpse of what the team may look like in the fall."
First touch for Tech's matchup with the Horned Frogs is scheduled for 1 p.m.
