Maltby Earns Back-to-Back Player of the Week Honors

Senior named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the second straight week, senior Felicity Maltby was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week after another weekend of outstanding performances to close out the regular season.

The senior led the No. 27 Lady Raiders with a 2-0 singles performance as she closed out the season at 8-1 in Big 12 play.

After defeating the 17th-ranked player in the country the week prior, Maltby took down No. 22 Oleksandra Korashvili (OU) in straight sets (6-3, 6-3), giving the Lady Raiders a 3-1 lead over the Sooners.

On Sunday, Maltby celebrated her Senior Day with a two-set win over Oklahoma State's Katarina Stresnakova, the 23rd-ranked player in the country.

With the current success, Maltby jumped 22 spots to No. 18 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings. It is the highest ranking of her career.

The Lady Raiders travel to Lawrence, Kan., this weekend for the Big 12 Tennis Championship. Texas Tech earned the No. 4 seed after finishing fourth in the conference with a 6-3 record. The team is set to face No. 5 seed Oklahoma in the quarterfinal round. The winner will advance to face the winner between No. 1 Texas and No. 8 Baylor/No. 9 Iowa State.
