The Player's Journal: Grind and Gratitude
April 25, 2019 | Softball
Written by sophomore Trenity Edwards
We are towards the end of our regular season and we are exactly where we need to be!!! We've been ranked for 10 consecutive weeks and we're 35-9, SAY WHAT?! We are coming off a series win against Kansas and have an intense matchup against Oklahoma State this weekend.
This is the best time of the year because you get to see who you and your team truly are. This is where you are the most tested with school, softball and life. With finals right around the corner and our last conference series on deck, this is the part where you have to grind your way through it all. This is what being a student-athlete is all about. The grind is what we as a team live for. We love a challenge and we perform at our very best when we know we will be tested.
We have to give gratitude for the opportunities given to us each and every day - not everyone gets to say that they are a top-25 team! God has blessed this team and this staff with love and it is what has carried us to the point we are at now. This series against OSU will be an exciting one and we are blessed to have everyone's support! Game times this weekend are Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Thank you for your support whether it be here in Lubbock, or in Stillwater!
