Texas Tech was honored for raising the most money by any BCS Division I school. This award is given each year in honor of the team that raises the most money in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund through the Play4Kay initiative.
Â
"It's an absolute honor to represent Texas Tech as the Division I National winner. We accept this honor for all of the cancer fighters and their families," Head Coach Marlene Stollings said. "We are grateful to the Lubbock community for their unwavering support to such a great cause."
