Scott Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech golfer Sandy Scott has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Men's At-Large Team for his performance on the course and also producing a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.
The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.
A junior from Scotland, Scott is a University Studies major at Texas Tech who earned Big 12 Conference All-Tournament honors after finishing fifth at the tournament. Scott is ranked No. 15 nationally in the Golfstat rankings and is a Jack Nicklaus Award Semifinalist. He won the El Macero Classic after shooting 3-under for his first collegiate win and had six top-10 finishes this season. Scott was the runner-up at the Lake Charles Invitational after shooting 13-under and had fourth-place finishes at the Showdown in the Rockies and Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
Along with his CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and being named to the Nicklaus Award Semifinalist, Scott will play in the Arnold Palmer Cup as an International Team member from June 7-9 at prestigious event that will be played at The Alotian Club in Arkansas.Â
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
