Taylor Advances to Match Play of English Women's Amateur Championship

Amy Taylor concludes stroke play in 12th place after first two rounds of play
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golfer Amy Taylor finished the stroke play portion of the English Women's Amateur Championship in a tie for 12th place on Friday.
The tournament, held at the Saunton Golf Club on the coast of North Devon, is an annual event that features the top amateurs from the UK. Competitors play 36 holes of stroke play before the field is cut to 32 players, where the champion is determined via a match play format.
Taylor has shot a combined 151 over two rounds of play in North Devon, as she fired a 2-over round of 74 on Friday after an opening round 77. She competed in the English Women's Amateur a year ago, finishing in a tie for 17th place after shooting a 13-over-par score over four rounds of play.
Taylor participated in eight events during her sophomore campaign at Tech, where she posted a stroke average of 76.14. Her finish in a tie for 5th at the Valspar Augusta Invitational in March was the best of her Red Raider career.
