STILLWATER, Okla. – The Texas Tech women's tennis team finished up play at the Fall Series Championships on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

One final round of doubles kicked off the final day of competition at the tournament on Sunday. Olivia Peet and Kailey Evans had a strong showing, shutting out Iowa State's Ting-Pei Chang and Ellie Murphy, 6-0. The Lady Raider tandem finished the weekend 3-1 as a duo.
Â
Nell Miller and Kaitlin Staines battled, but came up short, 6-4, to Oklahoma State's Alanna Wolfberg and Daniella Medvedeva. Freshmen Olivia Mikkelson and Camryn Stepp also dropped a tight match, 6-4, to Marie Norris and Addy Guevara of TCU.

The Lady Raiders closed out the weekend with another round of singles. Miller came up short to Kansas State's Maria Linares, 6-4, 6-3, while Staines dropped a tough, 6-4, 6-0 decision to Iowa State's Chang.
Â
The freshman Mikkelson battled with Baylor's Jessica Hinojosa, but fell, 7-5, 6-1. Stepp dropped a 6-2, 6-4 match to Ioana Gheorghita of Kansas State, while Evans fell short to Kansas State's Manami Ukita, 6-3, 6-2.
Â
The weekend marked another nice showing this fall for a young 2020-21 Lady Raider team.
Â
Last month, Tech traveled to the Texas A&M Invitational where the team combined to go 6-1 in doubles and 8-4 in singles over the course of the three-day tournament. The prior weekend, Kaitlin Staines took home the singles title to highlight a 4-1 final day for the Lady Raiders at the OU Invitational in Norman, Okla.
Â
The Lady Raiders also appeared in a pair of pro tournaments during the fall, both being played in Lubbock. Most recently, Mikkelson made a strong run to the singles semifinals at the West Texas Pro Tennis October Open last weekend, while three Lady Raiders advanced to the quarterfinals.
