LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head golf coach Greg Sands has announced the signing of Calum Scott to complete a three-player signing class for the program this fall. A Nairn, Scotland native, Scott is at No. 32 in the European Golf Rankings (U18) and is the younger brother of Red Raider senior Sandy Scott.
Â
"Calum is one of my favorite kids to recruit," Sands said. "He absolutely loves the game of golf and you can tell he is hungry to get better. Calum is from a golfing family, and I know he has learned some of the valuable things from his father and from Sandy. Â He has grown so much physically and mentally over the last couple years and there is no doubt be able to come in and compete at a high level."
Â
Scott is ranked No. 137 for in European Golf for all ages and is listed in the World Amateur Golf Rankings at 1,065. He has won three tournaments this year, including victories on the European Junior Tour at the Brora Golf Club where he shot 6-under and Duff House Royal Golf Club. He also won the Battle at Blair which was played at the Blairgowrie Golf Club with an 8-under scorecard.
Â
Culum Scott joins Seth Bearden and Gustav Andersson who signed with the Red Raiders last month. Bearden is a state champion from Crowell, Texas while Andersson is the top Swedish amateur player under 20-years-old. The trio of signees will join the Texas Tech program for the 2021-22 season.
