Tech Traveling to Denton to Face Oklahoma
March 04, 2020 | Women's Soccer
Red Raiders continue spring with exhibition against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech soccer will return to the Dallas-Fort Worth area Saturday. The Red Raiders will take on Big 12 opponent Oklahoma on the campus of North Texas, with first touch scheduled for 2 p.m. in Denton, Texas.
Â
The Sooners, now with a new coaching staff, are coming off a 2019 campaign which saw them go 8-9-3 overall and 3-5-1 in Big 12 play.
Â
"I think you should play teams in your conference every now and then," said head coach Tom Stone. "This year makes sense because we're kind of transitioning into who we want to be, and Oklahoma just got a new coaching staff. And we play them in Dallas, too, where all of our fans and our local North Texas families can come see us."
Â
Tech is coming off a blowout of LSU in Bossier City, La. The Red Raiders used three second half goals from All-American Kirsten Davis to down the Tigers at the First Bossier Soccer Classic. It was Davis' first collegiate hat trick.
Â
Admission to Saturday's game in Denton is free.
