COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Texas Tech volleyball assistant coach Jon Wong continues his work with USA Volleyball after being named the technical coordinator for the 2020 U.S. Girls Youth National Training Team, announced by the organization on Thursday, June 18.
Â
"I am thankful and appreciative of this great opportunity to work with the USAV Youth National Team," Wong said. "The USAV High Performance pipeline does a tremendous job of developing high-level players and I am excited to be a part of that and to work with Coach Cook and the rest of our staff. It is always an honor to represent the USA and to represent the Texas Tech volleyball program on the international stage."
Â
No stranger to the USA Volleyball pipeline, Wong spent the 2019 summer coaching with the USA Junior National Team at the FIVB U20 World Championships held in Aguascalientes & Leon, Mexico. He served as the team's technical assistant coach and helped the team to a top-10 finish. Wong also served as the technical coordinator and assistant coach for the USA Women's National Team at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, this summer as well.

Additionally, he also served as a technical assistant at the USA Women's National Team tryouts for the past four years.
Â
"I'm very happy for Jon to have the opportunity to continue working with USA volleyball and be a part of the youth national training team," head coach Tony Graystone said. "He's clearly one of the best analysts and technicians in the game and Red Raider volleyball is fortunate to have him."
