Wide receiver is one of 250 players in the country named to the Senior Bowl watch list
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech senior wide receiver T.J. Vasher was named Thursday afternoon to the watch list of players vying for a spot to play in the 2020 Senior Bowl, held Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala.
Vasher is one of 250 student-athletes from across the nation named to the watch list that will eventually be trimmed to 110 roster spots for the annual game, split between North and South squads.
The Senior Bowl is the nation's most prestigious college all-star game as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL draft process. A trio of Red Raiders were selected to play in last year's game, including Jordyn Brooks, Broderick Washington Jr. and Terence Steele.
Vasher, a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, continued to be a big play threat for the Red Raiders last season as he led the team with six touchdown catches, giving him 19 for his career. Four of his six touchdown catches came during Big 12 play as he finished the year with 42 receptions for 515 yards.
This is the second time Vasher has been recognized prior to his upcoming senior campaign as he was one of 10 Red Raiders named Preseason All-Big 12 by Athlon Sports.
The Red Raiders kick off the 2020 season on Sept. 12 as Tech welcomes Houston Baptist to Jones AT&T Stadium.
