VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW: Texas Tech Heads to Manhattan to Face Kansas State

The Red Raiders will face the Wildcats on ESPNU on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Coming off a much-needed week of rest, Texas Tech (13-8, 3-5) travels to Manhattan, Kansas to face Kansas State (12-7, 3-5) for an important Big 12 matchup as the Red Raiders look to break into the top half of the league standings.
Wednesday night's match will be broadcasted on ESPNU at 7 p.m. CT with Thursday's match slated for 6:30 p.m. will not be streamed live due to scheduling conflicts with multiple sports.

RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- Tech most recently played Oklahoma in Norman where the Red Raiders split with the Sooners. Oklahoma won the first match in five sets before Tech responded with a sweep of the Sooners the next day for its first win over Oklahoma in Norman since 2002. Tech recorded its best offensive performance of the season in the three-set win hitting .398 as a team while holding Oklahoma to a .186 clip.
- Kansas State is coming off a split against TCU in Fort Worth, dropping the first match in four sets before beating the Horned Frogs in four sets the next day. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, outside hitter Aliyah Carter tallied 23 kills on a .327 clip in the Wildcats win over TCU, earning her Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
- The Red Raiders and Wildcats sit in a five-way tie for fourth place behind first place Texas (8-0), Baylor (7-1) and Iowa State (4-4). Tech, Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma and West Virginia are all log jammed in the fourth spot in the standings with four conference series remaining this season.
- Tech looks to do something it has only done three on three prior occasions, beat the Wildcats in Manhattan. The Red Raiders are 14-40 in the overall series, but have won four of the last seven meetings, two of which were in Manhattan. Tony Graystone is 4-6 against Kansas State in his career with two of the Red Raiders three road wins in Manhattan on his resume.
