LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis team returns home this weekend to host No. 43 Kansas State, No. 45 Kansas SMU and Tarleton State at the McLeod Tennis Center.

ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
Texas Tech is coming off a weekend that brought a pair of narrow nonconference losses to Big 12 foes Oklahoma and No. 15 Baylor. The Lady Raiders have had a successful dual season thus far, having won five of their last seven heading into the weekend. Tech has combined for an impressive 31-14 dual singles record this season, led by Margarita Skriabina who is 7-0 so far this spring. Tech's season so far has been highlighted by a 4-3 win over then-No. 23 Arizona State last month and a 6-1 win over TCU in their Big 12 opener. The Lady Raiders will look to stay perfect in conference play this weekend against the Wildcats and Jayhawks.

LADY RAIDERS IN THE ITA RANKINGS
The Lady Raiders made another appearance in the ITA team rankings this week, coming in at No. 33 in the poll released on Wednesday. Tech has one ranked singles player and one ranked doubles team in the latest individual poll as well. In doubles, Kaitlin Staines and Nell Miller come in at No. 43. Staines also appears in the singles poll, slotted at No. 100.

EYEING THE OPPONENTS
The Kansas State Wildcats are ranked No. 43 in the ITA team rankings heading into the weekend, and are 4-2 overall on the season with four-straight wins. The Wildcats are coming off wins over Drake, Denver, Wichita State and Arizona in that stretch. The Kansas State doubles lineup is led by Maria Linares and Karine-Marion Job, who are ranked No. 46 in the ITA doubles rankings.

The Kansas Jayhawks are 5-3 overall on the season coming off consecutive home wins over Iowa State and SEMO in the last couple of weeks. Kansas also has wins over Tulsa, Wichita State and Arizona, with losses to Arkansas, Denver and Oklahoma. Kansas is ranked No. 45 in the ITA team rankings and is led by Sonia Smagina, who is ranked No. 81 in the ITA singles rankings and 4-4 on the dual season. Malkia Ngounoue and Roxana Manu are ranked No. 49 in doubles.

Tarleton State is 5-6 on the year heading into the weekend with two-straight wins over South Dakota and Southwestern last week. The Texans are also 1-0 in WAC play, opening their conference schedule with a 6-1 win over UT Rio Grande Valley in January.

SMU is 8-6 on the season and 2-0 in conference play this season and winners of four in a row with nice performances over Memphis, Oral Roberts, Wichita State and North Texas. SMU is led by the ranked doubles tandem of Jackie Nylander and Chandler Carter, who are ranked No. 52 in the ITA doubles rankings.
