Creative services staff will help develop engaging content across each of Tech’s social media platforms
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics announced Wednesday an expansion of its creative services department that will enhance the storytelling abilities and social media coverage for each of its 17 programs.
Â
As part of the expanded department, the staffs for creative services and athletics communications will work hand-in-hand to continue to tell the story of Texas Tech's more than 400 student-athletes, all while assisting with the implementation and day-to-day execution of the Beyond Verified program for Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) education.
Â
"The world of communications continues to evolve, and this investment into our creative services department will keep Texas Tech at the forefront of trendy and eye-catching social media content," said Robert Giovannetti, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations and Strategic Communications. "Our social media presence will only further expand with this department, giving Red Raider fans and alumni an inside look at our programs and their success."
Â
Texas Tech is currently searching for a Director of Creative Services, who will oversee the athletics department's entire social media operation, which includes a team of multimedia videographers, photographers and graphic designers. The position will report to Drew Ingraham, Texas Tech's Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing.
Â
With the ongoing implementation of NIL laws, Texas Tech will only continue its investment in those areas, particularly in its prioritization of storytelling as it relates to student-athlete promotion. Texas Tech consistently boasts an engaged social media audience that regularly ranks among the nation's leaders in engagement rates and total following.
 Â
The creative services staff will help develop content across each of Texas Tech's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and its recent addition, TikTok. The department will also produce Double T Insider, Texas Tech's weekly television show that airs via Big 12 Now on ESPN+, utilizing the state-of-the-art television studio at United Supermarkets Arena.
