Red Raiders Announce 2021 Soccer Schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech soccer coach Tom Stone has finalized and announced the 2021 Red Raider schedule that is set to begin against UTEP at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 19 at the Walker Soccer Complex.
The Red Raiders will host 11 games this fall and are scheduled to host non-conference games against UTEP, Hartford, Abilene Christian, Cal State Fullerton, UTSA and Eastern Washington along with playing at California San Diego, Arizona and Arizona State before Big 12 play. The conference slate begins at home, hosting Oklahoma on Sept. 23 and Kansas State on Sept. 26.
Tickets for the season will be $5 for adults and $3 for youth. All seating is general admission.
Texas Tech starts its season by hosting UTEP with the two programs meeting for the first time since 2009. The Red Raiders own a 6-4-0 record over the Miners after a 4-3 win on Aug. 30, 2009 in the last matchup.
The first road trip of the season takes the team to California where it will play the University of California San Diego on Aug. 22. The game will be the first meeting between the two programs.
The Red Raiders will return to Lubbock for a four-game homestand where they host Hartford, ACU and Cal State Fullerton. The homestand begins on Thursday, Aug. 26 with the first-ever matchup against Hartford before ACU travels up from Abilene for a game on Sunday, Aug. 29. Tech owns a 4-0-0 record over the Wildcats in the series history, most recently securing a 3-0 home victory on Sept. 6, 2019. Cal State Fullerton comes to the Walker Soccer Complex for the first time since 2013 with the Red Raiders owning 2-0 all-time advantage in the series. TTU won 2-1 in 2012 in California before earning a 1-0 home victory in 2013.
Texas Tech completes its four-game home stand by hosting UTSA on Sunday, Sept. 5 at the Walker Soccer Complex. The Red Raiders are 5-0-0 all-time against the Roadrunners, including securing a 4-0 victory in the last matchup in the series in 2015.
A trip to Tucson, Arizona will give the Red Raiders an opportunity to square off against a pair of Pac 12 opponents at the Wildcat Tournament two weeks before starting conference action. Tech begins the road trip on Sept. 9 against Arizona before taking on Arizona State on Sept. 12 in a neutral-field matchup. The Red Raiders are 1-3-3 all-time against the Wildcats and 4-0-0 against ASU.
The final game of the non-conference schedule is set for Sept. 19 against Eastern Washington. The two programs will be meeting for the first time.

TTU and OU tied last season 2-2 in Norman to take the all-time series to 12-7-5 in Tech's favor. Staying at home, the Red Raiders host K-State on Sept. 26 following a 2-0 loss to the Wildcats last season. Tech is 3-1-0 all-time in the series against Kansas State coming into the season.

The Red Raiders and Bears played to a scoreless draw last season in Lubbock, while Tech secured a 1-0 win over the Longhorns. The Red Raiders will then host Oklahoma State on Oct. 7 back at the Walker. Tech fell 2-1 in overtime last season in Stillwater as the Cowgirls took a 16-8-4 advantage in the series.

The regular season will be closed out with two home games, first by hosting Kansas on Oct. 22 before the finale on Oct. 28 against TCU. The Red Raiders fell 1-0 to KU last season and 2-0 at TCU.
