September 14, 2021 | Football
Patrick Mahomes II – QB, Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes and the Chiefs completed a 33-29 comeback victory over their AFC foes the Browns on Sunday despite being down the entire game besides the last seven minutes. Mahomes picked up right were he left off last season throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns on 27 of 36 passing while adding another 18 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The fifth year quarterback also made history twice, passing Kurt Warner for the most passing yards through 50 career games and passing Dan Marino for the most passing touchdown through 50 career games.

Terence Steele – OL, Dallas Cowboys
After starting 14 games last season Steele looked to be next man up in case of an injury to the Cowboys offensive line. But with the suspension of starting right tackle La'el Collins after Thursday nights 31-29 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Steele may be seeing snaps next week.
Danny Amendola – WR, Houston Texans#Cowboys' Mike McCarthy says Ty Nsekhe and Terence Steele have both worked left and right tackle. Says Terence is "clearly" one of their more improved second-year players.

Amendola started this 13th season off with a bang. He hauled in five catches for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Texans 37-21 route over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Amendola signed with the Texans just five days before their opener after spending the last two season with the Detroit Lions.

Dakota Allen – LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Allen recorded two tackles on Sunday during the Jaguars 37-21 loss to the Texans. Allen is entering his third year in the NFL, his second with the Jaguars.
Sam Eguavoen – LB, Miami Dolphins
Eguavoen finished tied for third on team in tackles with six in Sunday's 17-16 win over the New England Patriots. He also finished with four pressures and three hits on the quarterback, both stats leading the team. Eguavoen is looking for a breakout campaign after turning heads with a four-sack game in the preseason.
Sam Eguavoen's strong 2021 campaign continued into the regular season -- 4 QB pressures and 3 QB hits, both led Miami.

Ogbah and Van Ginkel were second with 3 pressures each. Butler chips in with 2 (seven players had 1 each). Jaelan Phillips scored a QB hit in his debut.
Jakeem Grant – WR, Miami Dolphins
Grant managed just one touch on seven snaps during Miami's 17-16 win over the Patriots on Sunday. Grant returned a punt 18 yards to help the Dolphins offense not be in the shadow of their own endzone.
Cody Davis – S, New England Patriots
The Patriots special teams recorded one tackle in the teams 17-16 loss to Miami on Sunday. Davis is entering his eighth season in the league, second with the Patriots.
Zech McPhearson –CB, Philadelphia Eagles
The fourth-round draft pick in this past summers draft played 21 snaps on special teams, tied for the most on the team. McPhearson did not record a tackle in the Eagles 32-6 route over the Falcons on Sunday, but that looks to change soon as he is a core member of Philly's special teams' unit.
TJ Edwards and Zech McPhearson led the #Eagles with 21 special teams snaps. Shaun Bradley played 19. Those appear to be the three core special teams fellas.

Jordyn Brooks – LB, Seattle Seahawks
The former first-round pick in last year's draft got his sophomore season off to a strong start recording 11 tackles in Sunday's 28-16 win over the Colts. Brooks was second on the team in total tackles and tied for first in solo tackles with seven. Brooks also showed off his athleticism by recording the highest Pro Football Focus coverage grade on the team.
For the Jordyn Brooks can't cover crowd, he actually graded the HIGHEST in coverage this week per PFF. 76! Best of any LB and DB on the team. #Seahawks

Kerry Hyder Jr. – DE, Seattle Seahawks
Hyder impressed in his debut with his new team recording three tackles and helping set the edge all game in the Seahawks 28-16 win over the Colts on Sunday.
Not on the stat sheet for it, but another great play beating his blocker by Kerry Hyder to blow up a Colts play. Vs run and pass, a very good debut for the #Seahawks' new DE

Cameron Batson – WR, Tennessee Titans
Batson was inactive during the Titans 38-13 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Broderick Washington – DL, Baltimore Ravens
Washington played a healthy number of snaps in the Ravens 33-27 overtime loss to the Raiders on Monday night. Washington is entering his second year in the league.
Kliff Kingsbury – HC, Arizona Cardinals
Kingsbury and the Cardinals put the league on notice during their 38-13 win over the Titans on Sunday. The Cardinals racked up 416 yards of offense on 67 plays while holding the Titans to just 248 total yards on 64 plays. Kingsbury's defense also did something few teams have done, holding the back-to-back rushing title winner Derrick Henry to just 58 yards. The defense also racked up six sacks and three turnovers.
Easily the most impressive win of the Kliff Kingsbury era. Utter domination of a quality opponent on the road.

Anthony Lynn – OC, Detroit Lions
The Lions fell short on their comeback attempt on Sunday, losing to the 49ers 41-33. However, Lynn's offense put up numbers recording 430 yards and averaging 4.8 yards per rush. Lynn is in his first year as the offensive coordinator for the Lions following a four-year stint as head coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Lions offense is fun early. Throwback screen (got blown up), short yardage reverse (worked well), wheel route TD if Goff hits the throw. Talent isn't there but Anthony Lynn is pitching heat rn.
